Professional Instructors
These instructors coach full time with local travel-ball programs (Polar Crush and Raiders), as well as running private lessons, camps, and clinics at AtBats.

Alison (Gaffney) Coulson
Coach Alison has been a member of the AtBats family since we opened back in 2005. From taking lessons and attending clinics as a player, to running them as a coach, Coach Alison eats, sleeps, lives, and breathes softball. She currently coaches 16U and 18U Regional teams for Raiders Softball, as well as serving as the Head Coach for Shrewsbury's Oak Middle School and an assistant coach for the Shrewsbury Varsity team. She also serves as the Head Softball Coach and Facility Manager for AtBats in Boxboro.

Coach Alison specializes in all areas of softball instruction for all ages: hitting, pitching, fielding, catching, and slap-hitting. She is available all weeknights, as well as Saturdays. To schedule lessons with her, shoot her an email at gaffneyatbats@gmail.com.

Currently attending and playing at Nichols College
Nick Willand
Coach Nick Willand is currently a member of the class of 2026 and the baseball team at Nichols College. Previously, he played 2 years at Division 2 American International College (left-handed pitcher & first baseman). Prior to college, he was an Acton-Boxboro baseball player and DCL All-Star. He was also a member of the Nor’easters 18U National Team.
He has previously run clinics and taught private lessons at AtBats and specializes in pitching, hitting, and fielding. Coach Nick is available for private lessons during his school breaks and summer. To schedule, please send Coach Alison an email and she will coordinate.

Stephen Sullivan
Coach Stephen Sullivan (known around AtBats as “Sully”) was a right-handed pitcher for the Acton-Boxboro High School Varsity team. A member of the ABRHS Class of 2023, Sully has been coaching young players at AtBats and other programs since he was a freshman in 2019. With over 15 years of baseball playing experience, he has continued his baseball career at Rhode Island College, as a member of their baseball team and the class of 2027.
Coach Stephen specializes in baseball pitching instruction, but also works with hitters and fielders as well. To schedule lessons with Sully throughout the year, please feel free to text him directly at (978)-201-2391 and he will coordinate directly with you

Currently attending UMass Lowell
Maddie Smith
Coach Maddie specializes in softball general fielding, hitting, and catching instruction. She currently attends Acton-Boxborough Regional High School and is a member of the class of 2024. Maddie currently plays for Raiders 16U Softball team and has played on the high school varsity team for the past two consecutive years. Coach Maddie and her family have been part of the AtBats family since she was 7, and part of various Acton-Boxborough Softball programs since she was 5.

Coach Maddie continued her softball career at SUNY Purchase for a season before suffering a career-ending concussion. She now attends UMass Lowell where she majors in chemistry.

Currently attending and playing at SNHU
Livi Sousa
Coach Livi currently attends Southern New Hampshire University and is a member of their softball team and class of 2028. She attended Hudson High School graduating in 2024. During her tourney ball career, she spent multiple seasons with the Hudson Demolition, a year with the Central Mass Voodoo, and completed her 18U seasons with Polar Crush. She was the starting second baseman for Hudson High’s Varsity team all 4 years of her career, and has been a part of the Hudson Softball community since she was four and has been training at AtBats for over 10 years.
